Sentencing mitigation videos are now an established method of legal advocacy, particularly in federal court. The rules of evidence allow for this in virtually any case, and any jurisdiction. Many judges are on record saying that, done right, videos make a difference in their decision-making process. They can also be used to negotiate a more favorable plea agreement.
